Unique. Elegant. Affordable
The smell of good coffee and the admiration for a sea urchin shell inspired Marie-Eve Bordeleau to create beautiful jewellery with delicate designs. The pieces are formed from an imprint of a sea urchin shell or a coffee bean, and then crafted in sterling silver.
Some pieces are also carved from precious wood combined with freshwater pearls or gold. The jewelry is carefully hand-polished to enhance its organic texture and brilliance. The works are classic, bold, refined and accessible at the same time and are distinguished by their unique signature.
Marie-Ève Bordeleau is a graduate of the École de joaillerie de Québec. From her workshop located in Trois-Rivières since 2009, she innovates and renews herself constantly by combining jewelry techniques and wood carving. She makes rings for her and him, wedding rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants of great quality.
Biography
Born in Trois-Rivières in 1984, jewelry artist Marie-Eve Bordeleau is constantly striving to push the limits of the materials she works with. Her approach, which combines sculpture and textural research, has been rewarded many times by awards of excellence. Born into a family that has always been ingenious and resourceful, she dreamed of making a living from her art as a creative artisan. At the age of 12, she started designing necklaces that she sold in boutiques and festivals.
In 2004, she enrolled in the Quebec City Jewellery School where she developed a strong sculptural desire. While visiting British Columbia, she discovered sea urchin shells which inspired her to create a collection. In 2008, she produced her first jewelry in sterling silver and carved wood, combined with freshwater pearls and gold. She then set up her workshop in the family garage and founded the company Marie-Eve Bordeleau, Sculptures Prêtes à Porter. She designed a portable kiosk, inspired by a high-heeled shoe built by her father, with which she travelled throughout Quebec and Ontario, participating in several craft shows. Her first online store for Canadian customers was launched in 2013, followed closely by a second one, this time dedicated to American and international customers.
Since 2009, she has continually adapted to her clientele to offer unique, affordable and small series products. Her three collections illustrate her evolution, her quest for new textures and her determination to perfect her work.
