About

Unique. Elegant. Affordable

The smell of a good coffee and the admiration for a sea urchin shell inspired Marie-Eve Bordeleau to create beautiful jewelry with delicate patterns. The pieces are formed from an imprint of a sea urchin shell or a coffee bean and then crafted in sterling silver.

Some pieces are also carved in precious wood combined with freshwater pearls or gold. The jewels are carefully hand polished to enhance their organic texture and shine. The classic, audacious, refined and accessible works are distinguished by their unique signature.

Marie-Eve Bordeleau is a graduate of the École de joaillerie de Québec. From her workshop located in Trois-Rivières since 2009, she constantly innovates and renews herself by combining jewellery techniques and wood carving. She makes high-quality women’s and men’s rings, wedding rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants.

Biography

Born in Trois-Rivières in 1984, the jewellery artist Marie-Eve Bordeleau is constantly pushing the limits of the materials she works with. Her approach, which combines sculpture and textural research, has been rewarded many times for excellence.

Born into a family that always strives for ingenuity and resourcefulness, she dreams very early on of making a living from her art as a creative artisan. Therefore, from the age of 12, she designs necklaces that she sells in boutiques and festivals.

In 2004, she enrols at the École de joaillerie de Québec where she develops a strong sculptural desire. While visiting British Columbia, she discovers the sea urchin shell that inspires her first collection. In 2008, she completes her first production of jewellery in sterling silver and sculpted wood, combined with freshwater pearls and gold. Afterwards, she sets up her workshop in her father’s garage and founds the company Marie-Eve Bordeleau, Sculptures prêtes à porter.

She designs a transportable kiosk, inspired by a high-heeled shoe, built by her father and with which she travels throughout Quebec and Ontario, participating in several craft shows. Her first online boutique for Canadian customers is launched in 2013, followed by a second one, this time for American and international customers.

Since 2009, she continually adapts to the clientele to offer unique, affordable and small series products. Her three collections illustrate her evolution, quest for new textures and determination to perfect her work. Comme un oursin is greatly inspired by her trip to Western Canada and blends the minimalism of shapes with a fine research for textures and relief. Nature précieuse draws from nature to marry precious and recycled woods, sterling silver and freshwater pearls. Comme un grain de café, evokes everyday life through the imprint of a coffee bean in sterling silver. The collections
